Zodwa Mkandla Foundation is the brainchild of Zodwa Mkandla, a leading businesswoman with interests in different sectors of the economy. She is a woman who has defied odds and created her business empire from humble beginnings, growing up in the bushy areas of Mbembesi, a remote rural area situated 66 km of Zimbabwe’s second largest city Bulawayo to becoming a business powerhouse in the SADC region.
The founder is a self-made success story and believes with proper guidance and real opportunities, every child regardless of geography or background can make it to the top. Her rural and underprivileged background was important to shaping who she is today and it a key quality that she brings to the Foundation.
She strongly believes by tackling real life challenges she faced during her journey such as proper education, training and mentorship it is possible to transform communities hence her decision to birth this organization with a key focus on Women Empowerment and Youth Education.
On the 3rd of February 2022, Zodwa’s 50th Birthday, this organization was born.
