The Be Best Campaign is a scholarship program that identifies highly talented students from disadvantaged backgrounds and pays their school fees from form 1 -4 and form 5-6. The organization dedicates 70% of funds received under this program for forms 1-4 and 30% from form 5-6. Of all the beneficiaries 60% will be girls and 40% boys. This is a realization that in an African set up, the boy child has always enjoyed and advantage over the girl child and also that the population matrix shows there are generally more girls than boys in Zimbabwe.
The Be Best Campaign has its flagship program under the name Zodwa Mkandla Foundation Scholarship Program. In this campaign the focus is on identifying those children with potential but lack the resources to access a good education.
Students are selected primarily through the school system and a further vetting undertaken by the Foundation. A framework has been developed that will further expose the students suggested by the school authorities to further scrutiny to ensure they meet the required standard. A pre-approved standard will be developed by the foundation and communicated to the relevant school authorities.
In the foreseeable future, the organization intends to take those students under its program that excel to top universities so they can pursue their careers.
